Licensed Counselor · Resilience / Stress Coach · Christian Counselor

I am deeply grateful to serve as part of the counseling ministry of
Broadmoor Baptist Church through the Tom C. Pennell Christian
Counseling Center. My work is rooted in a lifelong commitment to
faith, learning, and walking alongside others as they navigate the
challenges of life and calling.
I have been married for over 32 years and am the parent of three
adult children. These roles, along with decades of service in
behavioral health, have shaped how I understand responsibility,
endurance, and the importance of sustained care.
Although I have been part of the local church my entire life and
have more than 30 years of experience in behavioral health, my
understanding of member care was shaped in a particular way
nearly nine years ago. A call requesting counseling from a cross-
cultural worker opened my eyes to the unique pressures faced by
those serving internationally. That experience set me on a path of
focused learning and preparation so that I could better support
those called to serve across cultures.

I hold a PhD in Christian Counseling and have been a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2001, licensed in both Louisiana and Texas. My training includes certification as a Cerny Smith Stress Assessment Coach, EMDR training, and ongoing education in stress management, trauma-informed care, Christian counseling, and cross-cultural adjustment.

When working with individuals living outside the United States, I offer three complementary forms of support:
* Coaching and resilience support focused on stress, transitions, and growth;
* Christian counseling and spiritual guidance grounded in biblical wisdom; and
* Peer and cross-cultural support focused on adjustment, belonging, and relational resilience.

**International services are provided within a non-clinical framework and are not a substitute for mental health care provided by a licensed clinician in a client’s country of residence.**

I am a firm believer in lifelong learning and remain grateful for the ways God continues to shape my path. My aim is simply to be prepared, present, and faithful as I walk alongside those I am called to serve.

“A vision we give to others of who and what they could become has power when it echoes what the spirit has already spoken into their souls.”
