Licensed Counselor · Resilience / Stress Coach · Christian Counselor
Married for 32 years, blessed with 3 wonderful children,
now young adults.

I feel truly blessed to be part of the counseling ministry
of Broadmoor Baptist church, the Tom C Pennell
Christian Counseling Center. I have over 30 years of
experience in Behavioral Health and have been a part of
some local church my entire life, so you might think
somewhere along the line I would have heard about
Member Care. But amazingly, I had not, until coming to
work here and getting that first call requesting
counseling from a cross-cultural worker nearly 9 yrs ago
now. That call and subsequent counseling experience
set me on a path to learn as much as I could to equip
me to better serve those serving cross-culturally.

I have a PhD in Christian Counseling, I am a Licensed
Professional Counselor (2001), Licensed in both
Louisiana and Texas and I have over 30 years of Behavioral
Health experience. I am Certified as a Cerny Smith Stress
Assessment Coach and also trained in EMDR.

My training and experience include professional counseling, stress management, Christian counseling, and cross-cultural adjustment support. In my work with clients residing outside the United States, I offer three distinct but complementary services:
• Coaching and Resilience Support — focused on stress management, transitions, and personal growth;
• Christian Counseling and Spiritual Guidance — focused on integrating biblical principles and faith-based insight to promote emotional and spiritual well-being;
• Peer and Cross-Cultural Support — focused on adjustment, belonging, and relational resilience.
When working internationally, all services are provided from a non-clinical framework. These services do not include mental health diagnosis, psychotherapy, or medical treatment, and they are not a substitute for professional mental health care provided by a clinician licensed in your country of residence.

As the tag line above reads, I am a fan of life long learning and I try to make use of my desire to continue to learn to benefit those I serve. God has been gracious in directing my path and I'm just doing my part in preparing myself as I walk it.

“A vision we give to others of who and what they could become has power when it echoes what the spirit has already spoken into their souls.”
